Farmer since he was 16 years old, the last 15 abandoned modern farming methods —with abundant use of chemicals and pesticides— to move into organic farming, and the result was a radical improvement of the health of their lands and himself. Since then Josep has become a strong advocate of organic farming and promotes the use of plants with medicinal properties, especially stevia and wormwood. He is fiercely critical of the pharmaceutical industry and the companies that promote the use of GMOs, like Monsanto, by ensuring more for financial gain —using patents and chronicity of illness— that finding real and ethical solutions. Now retired, devotes her time to the Sweet Revolution, a non profit organization that studies and promotes medicinal plants and is linked to Slow Food, global movement that advocates a thoughtful, organic and healthy food.
